Lorri Neilsen is the author, editor and
co-editor of six books on inquiry and literacy, including Knowing
her Place (1998) which won NCTE’s Meade award for outstanding
research in the English/language arts. As Lorri Neilsen Glenn,
she has published three collections of poetry: All
the Perfect Disguises (2003, Broken Jaw), Saved
String (2007, Rubicon Press),
and Combustion (2007, Brick Books). Neilsen Glenn's essays and
poetry appear in national and international journals and anthologies.
Currently, she is completing a collection of essays on grief
and loss, serving a four-year term as Halifax Poet Laureate,
and researching the role of place in contemporary Canadian women's
poetry.
