Erika Hasebe-Ludt is an associate professor in the Faculty of Education, The University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. She researches and teaches in the areas of teacher education and curriculum studies in connection with language, literacy, and culture. Her background is in interdisciplinary studies in first and second languages, literature, and cultural studies, with degrees from the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of British Columbia. She has taught in K-12 classrooms in Vancouver, British Columbia and in international teacher education at Simon Fraser University. Her current research focuses on rewriting literacy curricula in Canadian cosmopolitan schools, and on languages and cultures in transnational contexts. Her publications include Curriculum Intertext: Place/Language/Pedagogy (Peter Lang Publishers).
