My academic interests are oriented by recent developments in the cognitive and complexity sciences and are organized around mathematics education and teacher education. I am particularly interested in the collective natures of knowledge, ability, and possibility.

Titles of some recently completed articles include "Complexity and education: some vital simultaneities" and "Mathematics-for-teaching: an ongoing investigation of the mathematics that teachers (need to) know." The most recent book is a complete revision of Engaging Minds: Changing Teaching in Complex Times (with R. Luce-Kapler and D. Sumara).
