PhD Student

I joined the CCFI community in fall 2004 as a PhD student. My research interests fall in the areas of inquiry communities and communities of practice as they relate to student learning, writing instruction and teacher professional development. I currently work part time as a Teacher Consultant in the School District No. 38's Learning Services Department. My primary responsibility for 2004-2005 is working with students and teachers in secondary schools in the area of literacy. I also work part time for SFU in the Education Faculty's Field Programs area where I support teachers completing self-directed Graduate Diplomas in the areas of Special Education, Diversity and Literacy. I also belong to a virtual commune of chosen family that meets for sushi every Friday night.
