Jackie Amsden is interested in the role that young people can play in improving their communites through action research projects. Her background is in the field of youth development at the Environmental Youth Alliance. Currently, she plans to explore youth development in the context of a food security program of the Environmental Youth Alliance. This program combines experiental education, community service, and critical education within food growing activities that take place in heart of Vancouver's east-side.
